Founded in 2018 by a group of friends and film enthusiasts, Laredo Film Society began as a way to cultivate a love for movies along the South Texas–Mexico border. In its early days, LFS hosted pop-up screenings in different venues across the city. The goal was simple: make movie-going accessible to audiences hungry for something to do!

Since opening its doors to the public in 2021, the Laredo Film Society Microcinema has served as a space to build community through the arts and provide a supportive environment where local creatives can and movie lovers can talk movies and bring their visions to life—via screenings, workshops, and filmmaking support.

Whether you're a movie superfan, a local filmmaker, or a production house, there’s a space for all things film at LFS.

We love Laredo, we love its people, and we embrace the duality of being born and raised in the border. Our hope is that this pride spreads, and that we tell our stories and create community through film with boldness, pride, and through the art and magic of film.
