FILM 1: A 1973 rock opera (music and lyrics by A***** L**** W****r) steeped in 1970s grooviness that reframes the final days of Jesus as a story of fame, doubt, and political unrest, from the POV of a conflicted Judas.
FILM 2: A 1988 drama directed by M***** S******e that offers a deeply disarming, human portrayal of Jesus, exploring his doubts, fears, and temptations, imagining a path he might have taken—and the cost of turning away from it.

FILM 1, for its all-too-modern spin on the story of Christ, with religious groups condemning the film for its irreverence.
